POCO X7 Pro 5G Honest Review — Is It Actually Worth ₹34,999 in India?
The POCO Positioning: Value Flagship or Budget Trap?
POCO has built its entire identity on being 'flagship specs at non-flagship prices.' With the X7 Pro, that positioning is somewhat justified: the Dimensity 8400 Ultra processor is a genuine high-end chip that benchmarks comparably to Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 and outperforms most Snapdragon 6-series chips. The 6.67-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate is excellent. The 6550 mAh battery is large.
Where POCO cuts costs is usually in camera quality, software longevity, and build refinement. The X7 Pro is no exception. The camera system is competent but not exceptional — the 50MP main sensor with GalaxyCore GC50E5 is solid in good light but noticeably behind the Realme GT 6T and Samsung Galaxy A56 in low-light scenarios. The 8MP ultrawide is adequate and nothing more.
At ₹34,999 (down from ₹48,999 at 29% off), the X7 Pro represents excellent value against its own original price. The question is whether it's better value than the Realme GT 6T, Samsung Galaxy A55, or Nothing Phone 2 at similar or slightly higher prices — which requires answering what you prioritize.
What the X7 Pro Does Really Well
Gaming performance is the X7 Pro's clearest strength. The Dimensity 8400 Ultra handles BGMI, Call of Duty Mobile, and Genshin Impact at high settings with exceptional thermal stability. POCO has done well with software-level thermal management here — sustained gaming sessions don't drop frames the way many competing chips do under heat.
